The House Project Assignments Each student must turn in to get an A.

  1. 10 journals date time weather and what was accomplished or learned
  2. one site plan drawing including setbacks, drain fields and buildable lot
  3. Bubble drawings and notes on house design
  4. Practice cost estimate
  5. Actual cost estimate for their house design
  6. 2 career reports on two different occupations
  7. Either a site plan explanation or House Sales Brochure

Shared Assignments

  1. One drawing of house to scale including plumbing, doors, windows, cabinets, and electrical to code.
  2. One model with detachable roof and interior exterior walls, windows and doors.

Career reports

beginning salary, final salary, how many years of training. what they do, how to become one. one page 12 point one sided report.

Site Plan explanation and house brochure

One page each. one is written (Site Plan explanation) why the house is placed where it is and facing the way it faces. The other is more design and sales oriented (House sales brochure) look at real estate brochures for ideas.

LEAF chlorophyll and other color extraction findings in fall leaves.

Look at the data of your class and then analyze it for your hypothesis. “Note data from just your strips is meaningless because our hypothesis is about the leaves in fall in general” If you are looking at your strip alone there is no VALIDITY….

Your analysis should be about your hypothesis. If you only look at your strips then you aren’t making a general observation about fall leaves which is what the hypothesis was to be about.

So to make a long story short, combine the data into a graphic display that looks at the color in the leaves that had green in a pie or bar chart. For second period set it up to show leaves with green and leaves without green for your charts.

Students walked to HJ Carroll Park and Tri Area Community Center to photograph native plants during class and returned tomorrow they will be writing up descriptions and identifications for them. 4th period will be allowed to checkout digital cameras to photograph their plant groups over the weekend.
