Chimacum Elementary is an exciting place with lots of varied learning opportunities for all of our communities’ children. To help better meet the educational goals of our nation and the standards of our state, we use some of the best curricular materials available.

Mathematics
Two exceptional sets of mathematics instructional materials are used at our school, Everyday Mathematics in our single-grade learning environments and Investigations in Numbers, Data, and Space in our intermediate multiage learning environments.

Reading
To help students consolidate the reading skills they learned at Chimacum Creek Primary School, and to begin learning how to read for information in grades three through five, Pegasus instructional materials are used. Recent research by the staff has also led to the fine tuning of instructional strategies based upon research findings as outlined in such books as Mosaic of Thought and 7 Keys to Comprehension by Susan Zimmermann and Chryse Hutchins.
