About Our School
Office hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday
I hope this page provides you with some helpful information about our school. We currently have 235 students enrolled in grades 3, 4, 5, and multiage classrooms. Classes are held from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
We, as staff members, believe the responsibility of educating each child is a joint venture shared with parents. There are many ways you may help with your child’s education. Teachers welcome volunteers in their classrooms and can offer you various ways to help. Please feel free to contact us at 732-4471 if you have any questions.
Students receive special classes from certified staff each day of the week. These classes are each 30-50 minutes long and include music, physical education and library. Library is held once a week and music and physical education are held twice a week. Beginning in 5th grade, band is a music option your child may choose to participate in. We also have an Enrichment Coordinator who works with teachers to develop programs for students with special talents and interests. For students who require additional academic support, we have a Special Education Program which includes Title 1 and LAP (Learner Assistance Program).
Eating a healthy breakfast and lunch makes for better learning and school participation. Our district has a kitchen on site that prepares these meals for students who wish to participate. Menus for breakfast and lunch are sent home each month.
Occasionally a student needs to ride another bus for daycare purposes. Please send a note with your child stating the date and destination and have them come into the office to receive a pass. Because of overcrowding, we cannot allow students to ride a different bus to attend parties, scouts, or other after school activities. If you have any questions, call Transportation at 732-4040.
Students who arrive late to school must have a written excuse and stop in the office to receive a tardy slip. If a child is absent from school, please call the office and let us know. When your child returns, please send a note to the teacher who will then record it. If you would like to pick up homework, call before noon to request make-up work from the teacher.
According to Washington State law, no prescription or non-prescription medication may be dispensed from the school office without a signed Physician’s Form indicating the type of medication and dosage. Forms are available in the office and a new one needs to be filled out yearly.
In order to ensure our students’ safety, all visitors, including parent volunteers, must come to the office for a visitors pass and sign in when arriving and sign out before leaving the campus. Students are never to be taken from the campus without first checking them out from the office.
