For those of you planning ahead we will be taking 6th graders to Camp Cispus on Tuesday, September 13. That’s only five school days after school starts! If you are making payments you will have the $150 non-refundable fee all paid off by September.
Download a copy of the Cispus Packet right here! It includes the information letter, a packing list, permission slip, health form (both the permission slip and health form need to be filled out and turned in by September 8!) and a medical authorization form for any and all medications your child will need to take (and that includes over the counter meds, too) also needs to be turned in by September 8 so get that done as soon as you can. You will be able to drop off meds on Monday, September 12, at the school in the original containers.
Have a great summer and see you all in September!

Have you heard of the movie Race to Nowhere? This movie is not out in theaters yet! Schools across the country are holding special screenings of this movie so that community members, families, students, and school staff can view it and talk about the future of education and student learning. Let’s start the conversation! Chimacum is one of only four locations in all of WA state screening a Race to Nowhere in May. So come on by.
On Tuesday, May 10, from 6 to 8pm at the Chimacum Schools auditorium we will be having the screening of the movie Race to Nowhere (buy your tickets here: http://www.racetonowhere.com/epostcard/4935).
Tickets to the screening are being sold online for $10, plus a processing fee, per person and will be available at the door on the night of for $15 per person. If we sell over 100 tickets Chimacum Middle School will get part of the proceeds for our outdoor education programs (6th grade Cispus, 7th grade Longboats, and 8th grade Odyssey)!
Everyone is welcome and after the movie we will have a discussion to process what we saw.
If you are not familiar with Race to Nowhere this video is pretty good: Race to Nowhere.
