This website is about DO and pH and the importance of water quality. This year our class went to Chimacum Creek, Hamma Hamma and Big Creek.
Did you know that even if the water quality of a pool of water may be good enough for aquatic plants and animals but it may not be for humans to drink? That is the reason why it is important to keep track of the quality of water.
The pollutants of water:
*Bacteria and Microorganisms can cause illness.
*Chemical pollutants harm aquatic plants
and animals
.
*Sewage spills make people boil their water (if they’re eating or drinking
it).
*Pesticides seep into aquifers.
*Runoff.
Keeping trees and plants by river banks can help keep freshwater fish like salmon alive and keep runoff from going into the river. We can all help keep our water pollutant free with just a little work. Wouldn’t you like a clean world because we sure would.

This is our DO and pH kit.
