Athletic Contract
Team Rules and Procedures:
1. You need to be academically eligible to participate in CMS athletics. For this reason, you must keep your grades up to play in games and to practice.
2. You must attend all practices unless cleared to miss the practice by the coach. This means you must talk to one of the coaches and explain why you are missing practice the day before the practice to be missed. A note from a parent must be given to the coach the day after the missed practice. Unexcused absences will be treated as a violation of the team rules and a consequence will be assigned. See consequences below.
3. Practice begins at 2:20. After the 3rd unexcused tardy the player will not be allowed to practice that day (it will be treated as an unexcused absence). After school detention is not an excuse. Detention is assigned to students who are having difficulty being good citizens. Good citizenship in school is required of students who want to participate in athletics. CMS Athletics are a privilege. You must earn that privilege by being a good citizen and student.
3. You must come to practices ready to work. We can only get better as a team if everyone is committed to working hard in practice. For that reason, we cannot tolerate disruptive behavior at practice. We will ask you to leave if you are being disruptive or goofing off. Being asked to leave practice will be treated as a violation of the team rules.
4. Our sports are team sports. We will not allow any harassment of players on our team. If you are caught harassing or “picking on” any member of the team it will be treated as a violation of the team rules. Serious harassment could lead to removal from the team.
Consequences for Violating Team Rules:
1st offense: Will not start or play in first half of the game the week of the violation.

2nd offense: Will not play in the game the week of the violation. Parent notification.
3rd offense: Will be removed from the team.
