Setting up File Sharing
- Go to the Apple Menu and choose File Sharing from the computer
you want to share (for example, the student computers).
- In the File Sharing dialogue box, you need only to worry
about the Start/Stop tag and the Network Identity section. Set the Owner Name
(this is the name you will type in to log on to that computer). Set the Password,
then set the Computer Name (this is the one that appears on the network -
the chooser).

- The last thing you need to do is to START File Sharing (make
sure it says File Sharing on before you try to log on to the computer from
another computer).
- To log on to the computer from another computer, go to the
Apple Menu and select the Chooser.

- On the left, select Appleshare. On the right, the names
of the file shared computers should appear. Find your computer name and select
it by double clicking on it.
- When the dialogue box comes up, type in the Owner name as
it appears on the top of the dialogue box, then type in the password and click
Connect.

- Another dialogue box will come up asking you to okay your
preference. Do not click on the box next to the computer's name (otherwise
you will be asked to log on to it every time you start up your computer),
just select OK.

- Close the Chooser window and look on the desktop for the
computer icon with the name of the computer you logged on to. You can double
click on that icon to open the computer or you can open files from within
that computer! Good luck!
