CSD Choirs Concert is June 2, 2010 at 7 pm in the Auditorium - The HS Choir is coming out of it’s highest scores at adjudication in quite some time a mix of I’s and II’s!

HS Band End of the Year BBQ is June 5, 2010 at 5 pm – Will be located behind the LDS church in Hadlock. 8th graders and their parents are invited to attend! High Schoolers should see their section leaders for information on what to bring.

CSD Bands Concerts is June 8, 2010 at 6 pm in the Auditorium – The HS Band finished 1st at Sequim and 1st at Rhody for its Spring Parade Season. Middle school finished 1st at Sequim and 4th at Rhody for its parade season. Please note the early start time, all 5 CSD bands will be performing!

Graduation Rehearsal – will be after school on June 10, 2010. All high schoolers and 8th graders not graduating are required to attend.

Graduation – is June 12, 2010. There will be a bus for the band leaving the high school at 11 am, otherwise you can meet us in Fort Warden at 11:30. Dress is concert attire. All HS Band students and 8th Graders not graduating are expected to play.

The CHS Band and the CMS 7/8th Grade Band both performed at the annual North Olympic Music Educators (NOME) Adjudication in Port Angeles and were very well received!

Chimacum High School Band: Rating of SUPERIOR (Straight I’s!)

Chimacum Middle School Band: Rating of EXCELLENT!

The 7/8th Grade Band will perform their music as part of their March concert on the 30th. The High School Band will perform their music as part of their concert on the 11th. Both concerts start at 7 (and you know that that means you need to be here early!).

HS Band: Our books are in. For this course you need your own personal copy of Foundations for Superior Performance. The books are available from Mr. Gourley. They are $7 for winds, $10.50 for percussion. Checks should be made out to Ted Brown Music and have your instrument written in the “notes” section. Cash should be in an envelope with your name and instrument written on it.

Recordings of the pieces we are currently working on are posted in the “course documents” section.

All 6th Grade and 7/8th Grade Practice cards are due no later than Thursday, December 3. Thursday is also the last day for quiz make-ups and retakes. Remember: you can earn credit for 1 practice card by attending the High School Concert!

Concert season is here! Students are reminded that report times are 6:30 for all concerts, and they need to be in appropriate attire (see syllabus/reminders for details).

December 2 – HS Band/Choir @7pm

December 9 – MS Bands @ 7pm

December 10 – 5th Grade Band and Choir @ 7pm

Students in the HS Band and 7/8 Grade Band need to make sure their instruments are in GOOD WORKING ORDER when they head home for break. Adjudication is just around the corner and we work best when we give ourselves the advantage!
