As an employee of the Chimacum School District, you may be eligible for benefits which include medical, dental, and vision. In addition you may participate in a flexible benefits plan and other optional benefits (i.e. short term disability, life, and cancer insurance). You are also covered by the District’s self- funded worker’s compensation program. The District provides a contribution based on your FTE (hours worked) to help defray the cost of the mandatory plans and medical coverage you elect for yourself and your dependents.

Open Enrollment
The month of September is open enrollment. The deadline for changing plans is September 30th. In order to have coverage effective for October 1st, you must submit your new enrollment or any enrollment changes to the Payroll Department by September 10th. If you submit paperwork and or changes between September 10th and September 30th, coverage changes will be effective on November 1st.
The benefit booklet will be sent out to you for review prior to the above dates. The booklet will also be available to view in the payroll office. Please complete the enrollment forms carefully.
- When enrolling in a medical plan, list only those dependents that you wish to cover.
- Dental is a group plan, therefore, list all dependents for coverage.
- Vision is a group plan and coverals all eligible dependents, but does not require an enrollment form.
The Chimacum School District offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program. The program enables you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for health and daycare costs. Completed enrollment forms must be returned to payroll by October 1st.
