School Board Minutes

Board of Directors Election History 1967-2010

The Chimacum School Board meets regularly on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month starting at 7:00 PM in the high school library unless otherwise posted. During the months of November, December, July and August, school board meetings are scheduled once a month.

The agenda for each meeting is available on the dsitrict Web site the Frdiay evening before a regularly scheduled meeting and at the school board meeting. The first meeting of each month is a work study session and the second meeting is a business meeting. All meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to attend.

The board will provide time during the meeting for audience participation. At this time, members of the community may address the board on an item not on the agenda. Comments should relate to items of public interest within the board’s jurisdiction. The law prohibits the board from taking action on items not on the agenda. Board members will not normally respond directly to the comments, but speakers are assured that their comments are very important and will be addressed in a different forum.

School board members encourage public participation and your input is appreciated. If you would like to address the school board, please sign-in at the meeting.  The board chair will call your name when it is your turn to address the board.

The five board members are elected from their respective Director Districts for a four year term. They are responsible for establishing educational goals, setting policy, hiring the superintendent and ensuring that the superintendent and staff carry out the goals and policies in the manner that provides quality education for Chimacum students.

“My involvement with the education system has been very rewarding. Every child should have a chance to achieve a quality education and should be able to expect that our school district can provide that excellence in education. I believe that Chimacum provides this quality education. I hope that my involvement and contributions provide students with the tools to help them be successful. Community and parental involvement are so important in our education curriculum and programs. Key to providing this excellence in education is respect and communication. I have been involved with the district for over 25 years as a parent and active volunteer. I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors as an elected official and I thank the citizens of our community for that honor.”

 DIRECTOR DISTRICT #3

David Robocker-Elected 2004

(360)618-2023

david_robocker@csd49.org

Dave and his wife Tami came to the area in the summer of 2000. “We were constant visitors to the peninsula during our first ten years of marriage and felt drawn to the region and lifestyle”. When a new job opened the opportunity to come to Jefferson County they jumped on it. Their two girls, Chloe and Abbi, quickly became part of Chimacum Schools. “We found Chimacum Schools faculty and staff willing to listen and work with us when issues arose. They encourage parent involvement. We were pleased to be involved with a small school with progressive ideas”.

When the chance to be appointed to the board arose in 2004, Dave was happy to apply. “I saw the board as my chance to give back. My schedule didn’t allow me to be active in daily school activities. What a great way to be involved with the place that was shaping my children’s lives”. With an already well seasoned and respected board to show the way, Dave began his continuing adventure.

“Chimacum is a great place for kids. We have exceptional faculty, staff and administration. We of the board are here to make sure Chimacum always looks forward and continues to grow and change with the needs of our students.”

Dave and Tami currently live in Port Ludlow. Chloe is a proud member of the Class of 2011 and Abbi the Class of 2013.
