Exchange Problems

July 7th, 2009

The Exchange server is having problems on almost a daily basis.  After a reboot is performed, the system is functional until the next day.  The ESD is working on a fix for the problem.  Until it is fixed, you may see connection problems with email in the mornings.  It should work after I have rebooted [...]

July 7th, 2009

I have finally gotten the Mac OS X 10.5 software updates to function.  If you are on the main campus network, Software Update from the Apple Menu now functions normally.  The actual downloads come from the district servers and will not cause a slowdown on the network.  If you have admin access to you computer, you will [...]

New printing changeover is functioning

September 24th, 2008

Once a computer is added to the domain and connected to the secure wireless network, the traditional printing setup will not work.  Locally connected USB printers will work without any changes, but your network printer connections will need to be changed.
You can add printers in the IP section as described here.
The other method is to [...]

Secure wireless going live

September 24th, 2008

The CSD-Staff wireless network is now ready to be connected to most of our laptops.  Any laptop that has been updated and shows the name and password screen to login, should be ready to connect.
This is best done by a tech, but here are the steps involved in completing the setup.

Select the CSD-Staff network from [...]

Setting up Entourage

August 25th, 2008

After I have updated your computers, the newest version of Entourage will be the standard email client.  When you first open Entourage, it will have you create a new Office Identity.  After that is done, the Entourage Setup Assistant will open.  You will want to choose the “Import from a previous version of Entourage” option.  If you don’t [...]

Printing continued…

August 25th, 2008

It turns out the new printing setup is not compatible with the updated version of the Mac OS.  The incompatibility has existed for the last year and has no clear resolution in the near future.  So for this school year, printers will have to be setup the normal way.  That is done by opening the Control Panels [...]
