Setting up Entourage
After I have updated your computers, the newest version of Entourage will be the standard email client. When you first open Entourage, it will have you create a new Office Identity. After that is done, the Entourage Setup Assistant will open. You will want to choose the “Import from a previous version of Entourage” option. If you don’t see the assistant, you can open it by choosing Import from the File menu in Entourage. In this case, you will choose “Entourage information from an archive or earlier version”.
The next window, title Import, gives you choices of which version of Entourage to import from. Start with Entourage 2004. Press the next arrow at the lower right of the screen. If you get a message stating “No Entourage 2004 Identities found”, press the back arrow to return to the version screen and select the Entourage X option. Most people will have one of these two options. Follow the steps to complete the import. It may take some time depending on the size of your mailbox. In some cases, as much as an hour.
Once you have completed your import, you should see your email and folders. There are a few minor settings that need to be changed to make things correctly.
Open the Tools menu and select Accounts…
Double click on the account that is listed in the windows.
Modify the name if needed.
Change the email address to show your_name@csd49.org (chimacum.wednet.edu still works).
Change the POP or IMAP server field to show zeus.csd49.org
The password is chimacum (contact the tech department to change).
Change the SMTP server to zeus.csd49.org
Click on the “Click here for advanced sending options” button.
Select the “SMTP sever requires authentication” and “Use same settings as receiving mail server” options.
Close the windows. That’s it. Email should work for you now.
